Why I started Hjælp til huskøb
I have worked with home purchases for more than 25 years, most of that time on the seller’s side of the table. I saw the same pattern again and again: the seller had a professional agent looking after their interests, while the buyer stood alone with uncertainty and too little knowledge, about to make the biggest investment of their life.
That imbalance is what Hjælp til huskøb corrects.
Because I know the agents’ work from the inside, I know exactly what you should be aware of: where there is room to negotiate, what hides in the documents, and when to hold on or move on. I now use that knowledge to work for you.
A growing share of my clients are international residents buying in Denmark for the first time. I work in English throughout the process, and I know what surprises people most when they are used to how property works somewhere else.
What I help you with
I am your advisor through the whole purchase, from the first viewing to taking over the home:
- Free screening of the home before you go to a viewing
- Free review of the purchase agreement, so you know the right reservation for my approval is in place before you sign
- Price negotiation on your behalf, which in most cases gives a larger discount
- Legal review of the condition report, the electrical inspection report, servitudes and BBR, explained in English
- A personal buyer’s guide in English about your specific property: what you are buying, what it costs and what to watch for
- Follow-up all the way to taking over, and after
I advise on the purchase of a house, apartment, summer cottage, country estate, housing cooperative home and new build throughout Denmark, through online meetings.
How I work
You get one personal contact throughout your home purchase, not a call centre. I answer the phone myself, and you can call every day between 8 and 20. A home purchase doesn’t wait for office hours, and neither do I.
Contact me as early as possible to hear what I can help you with. I offer a free screening before you go and see the home for the first time. If you have received a purchase agreement to sign, I also offer to review it for free, so you can be sure it is safe to sign. Get in touch and send it over.
I explain things as they are, without legal jargon and without beating about the bush. If a home is a poor buy, I say so directly, even if it means a shorter job for me. That is what independent advice means in practice.
